Family updates

I honestly need to keep this blog up to date better than I currently do. I think I sometimes forget about it with all the things that go on in our family. Life is so busy and full that often times I stop and think WOW this is heaven on earth.

We have had an exciting year this year I (Leah) graduated college, it was a long six years but I did it!! I started my masters degree in June of this year it's been a rough road with that. In July of this year we lost Dave's dad, we all knew that the day would come we just didn't expect it to happen in the way or as quickly as it had happened. I learned that day the lord gives us knowledge when we need it in order for us to deal with the heartache of loosing our beloved parents. I have personally had a hard time dealing with death all of my life it has always seemed so final to me. Then 12 years ago I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and my eyes were opened to many thing that have helped me gain a greater knowledge and perspective on death and life and the eternal blessings that happen. The knowledge that our separation from Dave's dad is only temporary and that we will see him again. I learned through this process that families can do one of two things either be brought closer together or be torn apart by bickering and fighting over stuff. Dave's family has been brought closer together and have stepped up and helped out where ever and how ever is needed and been their for each other. It has been amazing to watch his family bond and grow together.

In July we also started our home study process for adoption and loosing Dave's dad happened right in the middle of it. But it was through that Dave and I really bonded and looked deep down in our hearts and prayed that we will find a child or children that would be right for our family. We know that the lord has someone special picked out for our family we just have not found them yet. We say them because both of us get the feeling that we will be adopting a sibling set, we are excited about this step in our families life. We have prayed and asked for guidance over the past year and are patiently waiting for the phone call that says "congrats you have been selected as an adoptive family".
